[Press] at Untitled

The [Press] at Untitled, Oklahoma City's premier print studio, offers a series of classes and workshops in an array of printmaking and artistic disciplines. Workshops are taught by local and visiting artists and include monoprints, lithography, etching, relief, serigraphy and the book arts.

The goal of the [Press] at Untitled is to facilitate education about printmaking processes and other artistic forms and to offer the local community opportunities to explore unique forms of artistic expression in a creative environment. Our press equipment includes four etching presses, one lithography press, a serigraph vacuum table and screen station, and a plate and screen exposure unit. We have two hundred cases of lead type and two letterpress-proofing presses.

Mentorship Program
[Artspace] has a history working with several schools visiting exhibitions, and working in the gallery making artwork. The [Press] continues working every year with large school classes introducing the students to printmaking, but felt a need to inspire and work with kids who have a focused interest in creating and making, but do not have personal exposure or support.

In 2011 the [Press] at Untitled initiated a Mentorship Program to work with a small group of children and teens who wanted the opportunity to learning more about the medium of printmaking and the book arts. With our volunteers we provide a positive adult role model to these students.

Our facility provides the equipment needed to teach etching, lithography, serigraphy, collography, relief, bookmaking and bookbinding. With our volunteer staff we also teach students how to write about their work, build portfolios and create presentations that can be used to apply for schools, scholarships and grants. This process supports youth through building critical communication, social skills and positive relationships with peers and adults

In 2015 with the addition of OHM Space and their volunteers we hope to blend technology and art. We want Untitled to be an incubator for creativity, giving students the opportunity for developing their ideas through collaboration and dialogue that ultimately brings invention and innovation.

Geary Oklahoma High School Mentorship Group
Geary Oklahoma High School Art Club students were the first group to participate in this program and because of the dedication of their teacher Rachel Adams and the cooperation of the principal and superintendent of Geary High School this group was able to come to the [Press] one day a month for the past two years to work in our printmaking studio with several different mentors.
